Poetry readings for Dying Matters Awareness Week

This week (6th-12th May) marks UK Dying Matters Awareness Week – a campaign by Hospice UK to encourage all communities to get talking in whatever way, shape or form works for them.

This year’s theme focuses on the language that we use, and conversations we have, around death and dying – specifically between healthcare professionals and patients, their carers and their families. Honest, timely conversations about death and dying are essential to good end of life care.

At Shipston Home Nursing, we will be sharing thoughts from our nurses and healthcare assistants, as well as feedback from the families of patients we have cared for.

To encourage a moment of reflection each day, we will also be posting a poem, read by our patron Anton Lesser on our social media channels at 11am.

Anton Lesser reads ‘Remember Me’ by David Harkins
