Our care is free of charge to patients and families, this is provided through a team of Registered General Nurses (RGN’s) and Health Care Assistants (HCA’s). Our approach is sensitive and caring and we aim to provide support for the whole family to help them through a very difficult time.
Our Nursing Service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year with our staff being specifically chosen for their skills, compassion and ability to build and maintain relationships with families who are referred to us for care and support.
Nurses are all registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council with many of them having in excess of 30 years cross-discipline nursing experience. Their general nursing skills are formally refreshed annually through a mandatory training programme, as well as specialist training focused on palliative care and symptom control.
Recently we expanded our team with HCA’s who work alongside our nurses and independently to provide personal care and respite visits.
Our staff care passionately about what they do and feel privileged to be able to look after, patients and families who are facing a difficult period in their lives.
We feel very fortunate to work as part of a very integrated local community team which includes General Practitioners, Community Nurses and Nurse Specialists, Macmillan Nurses and other health professionals. This allows us to provide a well informed, multi-disciplined approach to planning and implementing patient-focused care.
