Our Care

We are a Registered Charity specialising in providing care for adult patients who have illnesses which do not respond to curative treatment.

Our care is free of charge to patients and families. This is provided through a team of Registered General Nurses (RGN’s) and Healthcare Assistants (HCA’s). Our approach is sensitive and caring and we aim to provide support for the whole family to help them through a very difficult time.

Our Nursing Service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year with our staff being specifically chosen for their skills, compassion and ability to build and maintain relationships with families who are referred to us for care and support.

Nurses are all registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council with many of them having in excess of 30 years cross-discipline nursing experience. Their general nursing skills are formally refreshed annually through a mandatory training programme, as well as specialist training focused on palliative care and symptom control.

Healthcare Assistants work alongside our nurses and independently to provide personal care and respite visits.

Our staff care passionately about what they do and feel privileged to be able to look after patients and families who are facing a difficult period in their lives.

We are fortunate to work as part of an integrated local community team which includes General Practitioners, Community Nurses, Nurse Specialists and other health professionals. This enables us to provide a well informed, multi-disciplined approach to planning and implementing patient-focused care.
