Janet Oakey - Nurse Manager

Janet was born near Stratford upon Avon and has lived in Shipston-on-Stour for 15 years. She trained as a Registered General Nurse at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. From 1992 to 2001, she worked on the Haematology Ward, caring for patients with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and other blood cancers. She also spent time at Hammersmith Hospital in London studying forms of treatment and research into haematology. From 2001 to 2006, Janet worked on the Stroke Unit, caring for patients with CVAs and brain tumours. In 2002, she joined Shipston Home Nursing as a Bank Nurse. In 2004 she became Nurse Coordinator for Shipston Home Nursing and was appointed Nurse Manager in 2006.

Shirley Carr - Nurse Coordinator

Shirley lives in Halford with her husband Doug. She has worked for Shipston Home Nursing since 1998. As a mature student, she trained from 1986 and qualified in 1988. In 1988 she also undertook a 6 week palliative care course. She then worked at Warwick Hospital in medicine and cardiology for a year and a half. She started working with Charlie Wells in 1998 for Shipston Home Nursing as both nurse and coordinator. She now works closely with Janet Oakey.

Shirley Wilson - Nurse Coordinator

Shirley trained at Coventry School of Nursing and has been working in the field for the past 30 years. She has worked in various hospitals, including Cambridge Addenbrooks in the 1980s doing general surgery. She moved to Worcestershire in 1982 and worked as a school nurse while also working as a Marie Curie Nurse part-time. Shirley joined the Shispston Home Nursing team in 2000 and became a part-time coordinator in 2006.
