Welcome to Shipston Home Nursing
Our local hospice at home charity in Shipston, Kineton and Wellesbourne.

We are a local charity that has been operating for 15 years, we look after terminally ill people in their homes run by a team of qualified nurses specialising in palliative care. We look after the patient and their family for the last 3 months of life. Our service covers Shipston, Wellesbourne, Kineton and the surrounding villages. Our service is completely free of charge and therefore we have to raise £150,000 a year to cover nursing costs.

Are we achieving our aim? We have nursed over 500 patients to Spring 2011 in Shipston, Kineton, Wellesbourne and the surrounding areas. Our charity has been copied in Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold. The number of patients we care for has increased year on year and the feedback from the families of the bereaved has been immensely positive. Referrals can be made via your GP, District Nurse, MacMillan Nurse, Hospice and General Hospital. When you have been referred to the service, Janet Oakey (our Nurse Manager), or Shirley Carr (our Deputy Nurse Manager), will visit to discuss your nursing needs.

This wonderful service, that we offer free of charge to our community, comes at an average cost to the charity of £3000 per patient. We forecast the operating cost for this year will be £150,000 (approximately £410 per day). Your donation is vital to keep South Warwickshires local charity running, if you would like to make a donation, please contact Christopher Owen on 01608 686547/685095.

Emma Bridgewater has designed the "Polka Clowns" mug, for Shipston Home Nursing, which will be launched at Giffords Circus/SHN Charity Evening on Saturday June 11th. Read more...
